Air Gear RSS*steams* You know, it really sucks when there’s a good manga that I can’t read because of the disgusting objectification of women.
Air Gear is just the sort of exaltation-by-competition story that I like from my shounen manga. And it’s got inline skates with insane and impossible tricks, which I’m very fond of; the faux-physics always makes me laugh. It’s even got engaging characters and truly despicable villains and some nicely ambiguous sorts hanging around. It has the sharp-edged drawing style I’m most fond of!
Unfortunately, it also has at least twice as much boob-groping, panty-flashing, clothes-ripping and such as the Getbackers manga. That’s over my limit.
This is even more annoying because the women are a) cool and capable and b) babes. I have absolutely nothing against either of these. It’s the bit where the nudity is clearly against the woman’s will and has the effect of humiliating her where it starts turning my stomach.
So fuck you very much, Oh! great. You totally ruined a perfectly good story with all that shit. Save it for your hentai manga, where there’s no plot to be ruined.
