In fact,<br \/>\nhe&#8217;d be the first to admit that he wasn&#8217;t even a particularly good person. He<br \/>\nwas a philanderer&mdash;all right, a recently reformed philanderer&mdash;and vain, self-centered,<br \/>\nand arrogant to boot. It wasn&#8217;t his style to go out of his way for anyone or anything<br \/>\nwithout some sort of compensation in the offing.<\/p>\n<p>\nBut as far as the Seigaku Regulars were concerned, Raphael was a saint, despite<br \/>\nhis many flaws. <\/p>\n<p>\nIt wasn&#8217;t because he&#8217;d healed Tezuka&#8217;s shoulder, or Oishi&#8217;s wrist, or assured<br \/>\nMomo that, indeed, his ankle was just fine so-stop-pestering-me-damn-it. It wasn&#8217;t<br \/>\nbecause he&#8217;d given Inui advice about training schedules, or that he could make<br \/>\na homework migraine vanish with a glance.<\/p>\n<p>\nIt was what he didn&#8217;t do that qualified him for canonization in their eyes.\n<\/p>\n<p> Horio waved his banner. <strong>I&#8217;ve had laryngitis for weeks!<\/strong> it<br \/>\n     read. <strong>Do something!<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p> Raphael ignored him, and indeed, peace reigned upon the Seigaku tennis courts. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Raphael earns the gratitude of Seigaku. <span class=\"summary-meta\">Humor, I-1<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"teaser\"><p>Just being an angel didn&#8217;t qualify Raphael as a particularly nice person.
